## Description **Job Title: Family Practitioner** **Position Class: Exempt** **Supervision Received: Chief Medical Officer** **Supervision Exercised: N/A** **Salary Range: $220,000- $270,000** **** Cabin Creek Health Systems (CCHS) is looking for a Family Practitioner to join our Medical Team. Examine and treat patients with a wide range of conditions and refer those with serious ailments to a specialist or appropriate facility. Typical job duties include taking patient histories, performing or requesting diagnostic tests, making diagnoses, prescribing treatment, administering vaccinations and performing follow-up examinations, as well as educating patients in disease prevention and health maintenance. Additional duties include preparing medical records, clinical reports and correspondences. Commit to train future family physicians to deliver quality health services to patients of diverse cultural, ethnic and economic backgrounds. You will teach the residents to treat all patients with dignity regardless of the patient’s background. **Responsibilities and Skills Required** - Prescribe or administer treatment, therapy, medication, vaccination, and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness, disease, or injury. - Order, perform, and interpret tests and analyze records, reports, and examination information to diagnose patients' condition. - Collect, record, and maintain patient information, such as medical history, reports, or examination results. - Monitor patients' conditions and progress and reevaluate treatments as necessary. - Explain procedures and discuss test results or prescribed treatments with patients. - Advise patients and community members concerning diet, activity, hygiene, and disease prevention. - Refer patients to medical specialists or other practitioners when necessary. - Coordinate work with nurses, social workers, rehabilitation therapists, pharmacists, psychologists, and other health care providers. - Direct and coordinate activities of nurses, students, assistants, specialists, therapists, and other medical staff. - Plan, implement, or administer health programs or standards in hospitals, businesses, or communities for prevention or treatment of injury or illness. - Deliver babies. - Operate on patients to remove, repair, or improve functioning of diseased or injured body parts and systems. - Train residents, medical students, and other health care professionals. - Prepare government or organizational reports which include birth, death, and disease statistics, workforce evaluations, or medical status of individuals. - Provide quality care to patients according to clinical medical protocols and funding source guidelines; - Initiate an appropriate assessment of patient's health status, ranging from focused to comprehensive, depending upon the setting; - Provide and manage comprehensive medical care, including diagnosis and nonsurgical treatment of diseases, common health problems, such as infections, influenza and pneumonia, as well as serious, chronic, and complex illnesses for patients of all ages; - Provide prenatal care for uncomplicated OB patient; - Monitor patients' conditions and progress and reevaluate treatments as necessary; - Explain procedures and discuss test results or prescribed treatments with patients; - Advise patients and community members concerning diet, activity, hygiene, and disease prevention and educate patients about preventative measures to avoid illness; - Collect, record, and maintain patient information, such as medical history, reports, and examination results and prepares reports and correspondence related to the work; - Refer patient to medical specialist or other practitioner when necessary; - Prescribe medication in accordance with West Virginia statue and professional practice guidelines; - Immunize patients to protect them from preventable diseases; - Participate in formulating, interpreting, implementing, and evaluating objectives, policies, and procedu…
