## Description Facilities Technician I Located in West Valley City, UT Full-time Shift: Day Shift - 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM (Monday - Thursday) Position Summary The Facilities Technician I supports the maintenance, repair, and continuous improvement of company facilities, utilities, and grounds. This role is responsible for performing preventive maintenance, responding to facility-related work orders, assisting with equipment repairs, and supporting projects that ensure a safe, efficient, and reliable work environment. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, dependable, safety-focused, and eager to develop new skills while working alongside experienced facilities professionals. ## Essential Responsibilities - Perform preventive maintenance and basic repairs on facility systems, including HVAC, compressed air, plumbing, lighting, and building infrastructure. - Assist with troubleshooting and repairing facility equipment and utilities. - Support maintenance of building systems including electrical, water, sanitation, and mechanical systems. - Assist with facility improvement projects focused on safety, efficiency, and operational effectiveness. - Perform general building maintenance including painting, carpentry, drywall repair, and minor plumbing. - Support maintenance of material handling equipment, company vehicles, and other company assets. - Maintain organized inventories of maintenance tools, spare parts, and shop supplies. - Complete work orders, inspections, and preventive maintenance documentation accurately and on time. - Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas. - Participate in safety inspections and support compliance with OSHA, fire codes, and company safety policies. - Respond to facility emergencies and assist in minimizing operational downtime. - Perform other duties as assigned. ## Qualifications - High school diploma or equivalent. - Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. - Experience using common hand and power tools. - Ability to safely operate or learn to operate forklifts, scissor lifts, boom lifts, and other maintenance equipment. - Ability to read and follow maintenance procedures, equipment manuals, and safety documentation. - Strong work ethic with a willingness to learn multiple trades. - Excellent communication and teamwork skills. - Basic computer skills for work order management and documentation. ### Preferred - Experience in facilities maintenance, industrial maintenance, construction, or related trades. - Familiarity with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, compressed air, or mechanical systems. - Welding or fabrication experience. - Knowledge of preventive maintenance programs. - Experience working in a manufacturing environment. - OSHA, forklift, or lift equipment certifications. ## Physical Requirements - Regularly lift, carry, push, or pull up to 75 pounds. - Frequently stand, walk, climb ladders, kneel, bend, crawl, and work in confined spaces. - Work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. - Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) appropriate for assigned tasks. - Occasionally work at heights using ladders or aerial lifts. - Occasionally work outside normal business hours to support emergency repairs or critical operational needs. ## Work Environment This position operates in a manufacturing environment where exposure to noise, dust, temperature fluctuations, moving equipment, and industrial machinery is common.
