Facilities Tech (DMNC MI, 2nd Shift)

This position is responsible for the general maintenance of the facility, grounds, HVAC, Fire suppression system and mechanical systems. This includes making repairs, performing preventative maintenance and coordinating service contractors, assist PE and production with layout changes and ensures building infrastructure meets requirement for new equipment. Facilities Technician DMNC - Dept. 1170 Core Hours: 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM **\*\* A RESUME IS REQUIRED IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION.** **Responsibilities** 1. Repairs or coordinates the repair of facilities and HVAC equipment to include the cooling tower, air compressor, dryers, water softeners and other related systems. Additionally, responsible for performing preventative maintenance on equipment and systems. 2. Completes orders from the work order system. 3. Inputs data into the maintenance computer. 4. Orders special parts. 5. Uses all maintenance area equipment. 6. Follows TIE and TPM concepts. 7. Works with Pneumatic, Hydraulic, Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC and Cooling system. 8. Complies with IATF-16949. 9. Trains staff on use of scissor lift. 10. Assist with plant layout changes by coordinating contractors and ensures facility infrastructure meets layout requirements in regards to new equipment, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and structural needs. 11. Ensures accurate work order entry. 12. Ensures the capacity of current mechanical systems through the completion of capacity studies. 13. Supports the company's efforts to meet ISO-14001 environmental requirements. 14. Coordinates the work of outside contractors for facilities and grounds related work. 15. Performs facility and grounds maintenance including painting, replacing ceiling tiles, miscellaneous repairs and general clean up. 16. Maintains internal telephone equipment. 17. Ensures work areas meet 5S standards. 18. May be required to perform additional duties as assigned. **Quality / Environmental Roles and Responsibilities:** - Follows all procedures and work instructions and makes recommendations to improve the process. Notifies Leader immediately upon detecting any non-conformances. - Records all non-conformances to ensure corrective action and preventative measures are taken and assist in the problem solving process. - Communicates and practices DMNC’s Quality and Environmental Management Systems. Takes an active role in achieving and maintaining IATF-16949 and ISO-14001. **** **Knowledge, Skills, and Education Required** 1. High School diploma or equivalent with vocational training or equivalent experience. 2. Basic understanding of building mechanical systems. 3. Training in the maintenance and repair of industrial HVAC systems. 4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 5. The ability to read blueprints/schematics.
