Experience increments depend on experience in a Washington Public School or licensed childcare center in the state of Washington. Complete STARS profile required. Implement a schedule of activities and events before and after school for school-age children. 2. Assure proper care and maintenance of the facilities being used in the Express program. 3. Supervise all children who are enrolled in the Express program. 4. Assist the Express site director in the development of program and activities. 5. Maintain records as required. 6. Carry out appropriate and positive discipline as established by the program coordinator. 7. Perform other such duties as assigned. 1. Demonstrated ability and aptitude to perform the responsibilities listed. 2. High school diploma or equivalent. 3. Demonstrated experience and ability in working with elementary students. 4. Experience in school setting or equivalent youth program preferred. 5. Education in child development or related field desirable. 6. 30 hours of Basic Training is required within 60 days of hire. 10 hours of additional STARS training is required for each calendar year. 7. Must maintain MERIT (Managed Education and Registry Information Tool) 8. Demonstrated interpersonal skills. 9. Demonstrated proficiency in basic communication skills. 10. CPR certificate, first aid card, food handler's permit, proof of MMR Immunization, Immunity or certified exemption for medical/religious reasons required upon hire. 11. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse group of students, teachers, parents, and administrators while maintaining confidentiality. 12. Relates positively to youth and adults of varying socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds. 13. Physical ability to walk with students on field trips, bend and stoop. Physical ability to chase/run after students, when necessary, in order to maintain safety of students. Ability to lift 30 pounds. 14. Willingness to assist students with personal hygiene in accidental or emergency situations when necessary. 15. Must be at least 18 years of age. 1.
