Explosives Technician

This person will work with a team of engineers and technicians assisting with the handling, testing, and development of energetic materials and devices for the Energetics and Warheads Directorate at Picatinny Arsenal. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to safety, excellent attention to detail, and experience working with hazardous materials. What will you be doing? This position will be a key member of the technical team. Duties include: - Handle, store, and transport explosives, propellants, and pyrotechnics in accordance with all safety regulations. - Assist in the setup and execution of explosive tests and experiments. - Assemble, disassemble, and modify experimental explosive and ordnance systems. - Perform diagnostic testing and record data using various instrumentation. - Operate and maintain equipment used for mixing, handling, and testing energetic materials. - Conduct pre- and post-test inspections and document findings accurately. - Confer with engineers and other technicians to ensure procedures are followed and to resolve any technical problems. - Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in laboratories and at test sites. What skills will the ideal candidate have to be successful?
