EXPEDITOR/BUYER - ENTRY

# Job Title: EXPEDITOR/BUYER **Primary Job Functions:** - Act as a liaison between various departments and company suppliers, directing shipments to the correct location and arranging for timed deliveries. - Oversee and facilitate the smooth flow of work and materials within or among departments according to production or shipping schedules. - Expedite assigned purchase orders to ensure all requirements specified in the purchase order are accomplished. - Assist Accounts Payable in resolving invoice issues with suppliers. - Manage returns to suppliers due to quality issues and coordinate replacements. - Perform essential functions required by the job. **Secondary Job Functions:** - Source vendors of material, equipment or supplies, determine product availability, lead times, pricing and payment terms - Prepare and process purchase orders for material, equipment and supplies - Review purchase order claims for conformance to company policy - Ensure on-time delivery from all suppliers **Knowledge, Skills and Abilities** - Proven experience as an Expeditor or similar role - Familiarity with purchasing components, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods - Experience in a production environment is a plus - Excellent organizational and multitasking skills - Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines - Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel, and familiar with inventory software - Strong communication and negotiation skills - High school diploma or equivalent **Physical Demands:** **Hours: Mon-Fri 7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Week: 40+ Hours Lunch: 1 hour** (Some overtime may be required with prior approval by management.) **Sitting: 90%** **Standing & Walking: 10%** **Environment:** - Indoors/Office **Stress:** - High **Performance Standards** **:** - Monthly Metrics.
