We're looking for an Executive Chef who can take full ownership of the kitchen — someone who builds structure, sets the standard, and leads a team with accountability, without needing to be told twice. **What You'll Do** · Run day-to-day kitchen operations independently, from prep through close, with minimal oversight · Prepare and cook scratch-made, Mexican-inspired dishes to a consistent standard, for regular service and special events alike · Build and enforce consistent training, prep, and recipe standards across the team · Manage day-to-day staffing: assign tasks, set performance and development goals, and hold the team accountable to a clear standard · Manage food cost, labor cost, and inventory/ordering to hit budget targets, minimizing waste · Train all team members on and enforce compliance with federal, state, and local food safety and labor regulations · Maintain a safe, hygienic kitchen environment and consistent quality across all raw and cooked food · Partner with the General Manager on menu execution and kitchen performance · Jump in on any station as needed — this is a hands-on leadership role, not a desk job · Build a stable, well-trained team and reduce kitchen turnover **What We're Looking For** · 3+ years of culinary leadership experience in a supervisory or executive chef capacity, ideally in a high-volume kitchen (beach, coastal, or high-tourist-traffic experience a plus) · Proven ability to lead a kitchen independently, with strong structure, accountability, and decision-making skills · Experience managing food cost, labor cost, and inventory in a fast-paced environment · ServSafe or Food Handler's certification (or willingness to obtain before starting) · Working knowledge of food service regulations to ensure ongoing compliance · Excellent organizational and time management skills; able to run hot and cold line production simultaneously under pressure · Strong communication and team leadership skills · Experience with restaurant POS/back-office systems (e.g. Toast, Restaurant365) a plus **Physical Requirements** · Able to stand for extended periods, up to 8+ hours per shift, in an environment with varying temperatures · Able to lift, carry, or pull heavy objects as required for the role · Proficient with hand tools and kitchen equipment relevant to the position **What We Offer** · Medical, dental, and vision insurance (50% employer-paid) · Short-term disability (50% employer-paid) · Additional voluntary/ancillary benefits available at employee expense · Manager meal comps at all Taco Boy locations **Ready to Run a Kitchen the Right Way?** Apply today — we're moving quickly on this hire.
