Evidence Vault Supervisor

**Salary Information:** The salary for this position is negotiated through a collective bargaining agreement. All new employees will be hired at the minimum salary in the range and will be eligible for merit increases until reaching the maximum salary in the range. **Definition** An incumbent in this class coordinates, plans, develops, supervises, and leads the operation of an Evidence Vault squad.[*Click here to view a complete copy of the class specification, including environmental and physical conditions.*](https://www.governmentjobs.com/careers/lvmpd/classspecs/1022488?keywords=evidence%20supervisor&pagetype=classSpecifications) **Training, Education and Experience** - Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Criminal Justice, Political Science, Public Administration, or a related field. **AND** - Four years of full-time professional work experience in either police evidence or private sector warehouse storage operations. **OR** - An equivalent combination of education and experience. - Be a citizen/naturalized citizen or permanent resident alien without conditions on status of the United States of America by the date of the first test instrument - Be at least 18 years old by the date of the first test instrument - Possession of, or the ability to obtain, an appropriate Nevada driver's license. **Best Candidates Will Have** - Four years of full-time professional work experience in either police evidence or private sector warehouse and storage operations, and a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Criminal Justice, Political Science, Public Administration, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. - The ability to work under pressure, remain calm, and meet deadlines while paying attention to details. - The ability to work independently and as part of a team. - The ability to maintain cooperative relationships and manage conflict with peers, subordinates, superiors, members of other law enforcement agencies and the general public. - The ability to give clear and concise written and oral instructions. - The ability to communicate effectively, including public speaking. - The ability to convey evidence impound and management information in an understandable manner. - The ability to write, maintain, review, and update technical and management manuals. - The ability to ensure adherence to established section and department procedures. - The ability to identify technical problems, propose remedial actions, and verify their implementation. - The ability to lead personnel, evaluate personnel performance and work with them to correct deficiencies; develop and maintain training programs for Evidence Technicians and other support staff. - The ability to monitor resource needs, develop recommendations and monitor budget expenditures. - The ability to write and oversee grants. - The ability to be on call and respond when warranted. - Strong computer skills and experience with a variety of computer applications, including SAFE, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel. **Conditions of Employment** In addition to the General Conditions of Employment, found [here](https://www.protectthecity.com/applicants/employment-standards/general-conditions-of-employment), the following specific conditions of employment and physical conditions apply to this position. 1. *Personal Appearance:* While on duty, and/or representing the Department, uniformed or otherwise, all Department employees will be neat and clean in their appearance in public.
