## Description **About the Role** Join our Parks & Recreation team and help bring community events to life! The City of Kentwood is seeking an **Event Support Assistant** to provide hands-on support for a variety of rental events and programs. In this role, you’ll play a key part behind the scenes, helping set up, support, and break down events while ensuring everything runs smoothly, safely, and according to plan. If you enjoy staying active, working as part of a team, and being involved in exciting community events, this is a great opportunity for you * * * ## **What You’ll Do** - Assist with setup and teardown of event equipment, including tables, chairs, tents, stages, barricades, and signage - Load, unload, transport, and organize event supplies and materials - Arrange event layouts based on diagrams or supervisor instructions - Assemble and disassemble basic event equipment, ensuring safety and stability - Maintain cleanliness and organization of event spaces before, during, and after events - Provide on-site support during events, including adjusting setups and assisting staff as needed - Follow safety procedures and use proper lifting techniques and protective equipment - Report equipment issues, safety concerns, or supply needs to supervisors - Work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, vendors, and community partners - Deliver friendly, professional service when interacting with the public and event participants * * * ## **About You** You’re reliable, energetic, and enjoy hands-on work in a fast-paced environment.
