**Equine Student Employment** **Salary:** $12.00- $13.00 **I. Position Purpose:** Hocking College is looking for self-motivated, hardworking candidates to work at the Equine Complex. Candidates would be responsible for daily horse-related care as well as repairs and improvements of each facility. This job includes overseeing all equine related facility maintenance and special horse handling skills. If interested, please complete your application today! **II. Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:** • Daily horse care including feeding and cleaning stalls • Handling a variety of horses safely and with confidence, including leading, grooming, picking hooves, haltering horses • Exercising horses as assigned • Assisting with holding for veterinary, dental, or farrier work as assigned • Moving horses with truck and trailer • Grounds/mowing • Facility Maintenance **III. Qualifications – Education, Experience, and Skills** • Must be currently enrolled as a full-time Hocking College student. • Must meet federal requirements for Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP). • Must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0. • Must have a valid driver’s license • Prior experience in barn management and/or horse care (preferred) • Good horsemanship skills (preferred) • Understanding of basic principles of horse care and handling techniques • Ability to work well independently and under pressure • Ability to work efficiently with coworkers and perform tasks as scheduled • Ability to lift over 50lbs • Willingness and ability to complete all required training and professional development assigned by the supervisor, Human Resources, or the College. *Reasonable accommodations may be requested and reviewed according to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).*
