Our expertise includes advanced research systems, maritime solutions, sophisticated sensor technologies and payload delivery capabilities. **Job Summary** The EHS Specialist I assists in building collaborative and productive working relationships, networks with, and appropriately involves key internal and external stakeholders, influences key business decisions as well as functional and operational EHS strategies, plans, executes, and evaluates complex assignments that have a broad impact on operations and the business. The EHS Specialist I provides support of company-wide EHS strategy, planning, policy, standards, practices, processes, auditing, resources and technology, and management systems that aim to protect the workplace, the community and the environment. **Responsibilities and Tasks** - Assist in driving the EHS vision, mission, policy and strategies by performing EHS compliance applicability reviews, EHS risk assessments and implement effective programs, procedures, processes and systems to ensure regulatory compliance and protect employees, communities and the environment. - Assist in site wide audits to identify systemic EHS management gaps, development of targeted corrective measures and implement solutions to sustain compliance with EHS strategies, policies or standards. Leverage lessons learned and develop continuous improvement EHS programs. - Provide EHS service, solutions, programs, best practices and technical guidance to business management and support functions to effectively and efficiently assess compliance assurance and EHS risk mitigation. - Support with EHS incident investigations to determine and implement root cause corrective actions. Leverage lessons learned and develop continuous improvement EHS programs. - Actively engages with production employees on the floor. - Assist in the development of company-wide employee safety and injury prevention programs. - Conduct various environmental auditing, record keeping and regulatory reporting as required. **Schedule and Required Availability:** - Selected candidates must be available to work one of the following shifts: - **2:30pm-1:00am, Mon.-Thurs. (off Fri.-Sun.)** - **7:00am-5:30pm, Thurs.-Sun. (off Mon.-Wed.)** - **​**Scheduling flexibility to support business needs, required. **Education, Experience, Licenses and Certifications** - BS or MS in environmental, health, safety or relevant scientific or engineering field, or 1 year’s industry experience, in lieu of a degree. - Experience in an EHS program, operations, quality or manufacturing engineering functions, preferred. **Skills and Abilities** - Work well with limited supervision while being responsible for compliance assurance, risk mitigation, and injury prevention. - Working knowledge of Worker's Compensation, preferred. - Organized, analytical, detail-oriented, problem-solver, project management skills and focus on results. - U.S Citizenship is required. **Travel and Physical Requirements** - Minimal to no travel required. - The physical demands describe here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
