The Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality's Waste Permits Division is seeking to fill an Environmental Chemical Specialist Advanced position that plays a critical role in protecting public health and the environment through the review and evaluation of solid waste permit applications. This position provides advanced technical and regulatory expertise in the assessment of solid waste facilities, ensuring compliance with state and federal environmental requirements. The successful candidate will support the Department’s mission by conducting complex permit reviews, coordinating with stakeholders, and contributing to sound environmental decision-making that directly impacts waste management practices across Louisiana. A bachelor’s degree in an engineering field plus three years of experience in process design; OR A master's degree in an engineering field or a chemical or physical science field plus two years of experience in process design; OR A doctorate degree in an engineering field or a chemical or physical science field plus one year of experience in process design. This is the minimum compensation that may be offered.
