Join us to build a more rewarding financial future for all Canadians At Neo, we’re on a mission to build a more rewarding financial future for all Canadians. Life at a rapidly scaling tech startup isn’t for everyone. It’s complex, fast-paced, high-pressure, but also incredibly fulfilling. Since its founding in 2019, Neo has gained incredible traction and is one of the fastest-growing fintech companies in Canada. - #1 on Deloitte’s Technology Fast 50 for 2023, 2024, and 2025 https://www.newswire.ca/news-releases/neo-financial-achieves-first-ever-three-peat-win-as-number-one-on-deloitte-s-technology-fast-50-list-889692540.html — the first company ever to achieve a three-peat at the top! - #1 Fastest Growing Company in Canada for 2024 by Globe & Mail https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20240927952651/en/Neo-Financial-Ranks-No.-1-on-The-Globe-and-Mail%E2%80%99s-2024-List-of-Canada%E2%80%99s-Top-Growing-Companies - Top-ranked mobile apps and credit cards - Team of 500+ people - 1M+ customers - 10K+ retail partners Neo is rebuilding financial services infrastructure from scratch. We've shipped a full-stack banking platform (credit cards, savings accounts, mortgages, personal loans, cash back rewards) at a pace most financial institutions can't match in a decade. The engineering team is why. We're building a pipeline of exceptional engineering leaders at every level: Managers and Directors who lead through technical credibility. This isn't a role for people who want to stay comfortable. It's for people who want to operate at the edge of their capability and build something that matters. What we're looking for - You lead engineers through technical credibility. You stay close to the code reviewing it, pairing on it, making architecture calls not because you're asked to, but because you can't credibly lead a team you've disconnected from. - You hold a high performance bar and you act on it. - You own the process, not just the output. You understand what great agile execution looks like (small tickets, fast cycle times, obsessive test coverage, standups and retros that actually improve the team) and you tune it relentlessly. - If you manage managers: you develop them, hold them accountable, and you can step into their role when needed. You roll up team performance to the executive level with real metrics. You co-author high-level solution plans with product leadership before work hits the backlog. You don't wait for top-down direction and you don't thrive in slow bureaucratic environments. The work Neo's platform handles real financial transactions for real customers across banking, credit, lending, and rewards. The engineering problems span distributed systems, real-time data, payments infrastructure, fraud, and compliance. They don't get easier as we scale. We build on modern cloud infrastructure with a micro-services architecture. Teams move fast and own their domains end to end, from system design through deployment and on-call. There are no handoff cultures here. What raises your profile with us You've built and scaled systems that handle meaningful transaction volume or data throughput. You've worked in financial services, payments, or another regulated industry where correctness isn't optional. You've managed managers or you're ready to. You've run real performance management not managed around low performers. How we hire We're looking for rare people and we won't compromise on fit to move fast. This posting is intentionally ongoing, we keep a pipeline of exceptional candidates and engage directly when the right opportunity opens. Applying here puts your profile in front of our team and keeps you in consideration as our engineering organization grows. It doesn't guarantee an immediate interview and it won't lock you to a single role. If your background matches a current or emerging opportunity, we'll reach out directly. We aim to respond to every application, but given the selective nature of this search, timelines will vary.…
