Employee will be assigned to the Division of Air Quality, Permitting Section. Under supervision of a licensed professional engineer, performs work at the full performance level, on a variety of engineering services necessary to the Permitting Section. Duties include: - Reviewing and processing air pollution control permit applications to ensure that facilities are designed and operated in accordance with applicable state and federal air pollution control laws and regulations, as well as consistency with sound engineering practices. - Preparing draft permits which are reviewed prior to issuance for accuracy and completeness. - Developing and maintaining knowledge of existing and new state and federal regulations and air pollution technologies through training and independent study. - Conducting routine complaint response inspections and investigations. - Composing reports detailing recommendations, conclusions and findings. - Initiating procedures for pursuing administrative enforcement actions, as appropriate. - Preparing a variety of reports and correspondence and updates computer data files on a regular basis. - Conducting field inspections which may require walking over rugged terrain and inclement weather. - May perform other duties as required. Notes: - Regular attendance is an essential part of this position. - Qualifying applicants will be required to complete an internet-based profile assessment to compare the applicant's thinking and reasoning skills, behavioral traits and the occupational interests against the traits determined to be important to the posted position. - The recommended candidate will be subject to a search of his or her Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) prior to being hired and annually thereafter. **Click The APPLY Link To Apply Online**. **Training:** Current Professional Engineer (PE) license issued by the West Virginia State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers. Applicants must hold a BS in the field of engineering, chemical, civil, electrical, environmental, mechanical, mining, industrial, etc.
