Join the award-winning Fleet Management Division of the City of Charlotte as a Master Emergency Vehicle Technician and become part of a team that keeps one of the region’s largest and most advanced fire apparatus fleets running strong. You’ll work alongside a dedicated group of EVT and ASE-certified Medium/Heavy Truck technicians, supporting essential services for the City of Charlotte. In this expert-level role, you’ll be responsible for the daily evaluation, inspection, diagnosis, and repair of a wide range of fire apparatus and support equipment that is essential to Charlotte Fire’s mission. You’ll take the lead on: • Diagnosing and repairing complex electronically controlled diesel and gasoline engines • Troubleshooting advanced electrical, air brake, and hydraulic systems • Servicing complex systems specific to fire apparatus and support equipment with precision and care • Mentoring and guiding junior technicians, sharing your expertise to foster growth and ensure high standards across the team This is more than a technical role—it’s a leadership opportunity for someone who thrives on solving complex challenges and enjoys helping others succeed.
