Ingalls Memorial Hospital | Emergency Department | Registry (12 hours per week) | Day Shift Be a part of a world-class academic healthcare system at **UChicago Medicine, Ingalls Memorial Hospital** as an **Emergency Room (ED) Technician** at our Harvey, Illinois location. The Emergency Room Technician assists and augments the registered nursing staff in providing high quality patient care in the Emergency Room. The ERT must demonstrate the expertise and competency of all paramedic skills in accordance with Illinois State law. **Essential Job Functions** - You identify issues, problems and opportunities; proactively recognize the need for improvement. You commit to implementation and work with a sense of urgency and a bias for action to implement the decision. **Required Qualifications** - High school graduate or equivalent - Maintain AHA Basic Life Support Certification - Maintain certifications/licensures, as applicable. - Ability to follow oral and written instructions and perform a variety of patient assistance without direct supervision. - Ability to interact effectively with patient, clinical staff, and the general public. - Ability to adjust work schedules and activities based on needs of department. **Required Skills:** - Emergency Medical Technician (Basic EMT-B); Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA), and/or student nurse that is currently enrolled in an RN program and has started clinical rotations. - CPI certification required upon hire or 60 days of hire **Position Details** - Job Type/FTE: Registry (0.01 FTE) 12-hour shifts - Shift: Days, 7a-7p, every other weekend - Unit/Department: Emergency Room - CBA Code: SEIU ### About the Company *We’ve been at the forefront of medicine since 1899.
