The Electrical Technician — Instrumentation will be located onsite in Penrose, CO with transition to Pueblo, CO and reports to the Facilities and Maintenance Manager. This role is responsible for installing, calibrating, troubleshooting, and maintaining electrical and instrumentation systems across Voyager Energetics’ facilities — working alongside engineers and project leads to ensure all systems meet performance, safety, and regulatory requirements in a mission-critical manufacturing environment. In this role, the essential functions are: Install, configure, calibrate, and maintain electrical and instrumentation systems including sensors, controllers, and control panels across facility and customer sites. Install and route conduit (EMT, rigid) using hydraulic benders and related tools, including Class 1 Division 1 hazardous location installations in compliance with NEC requirements. Troubleshoot electrical faults and instrumentation malfunctions using test equipment including multimeters, meggers, and thermal cameras; apply structured root cause analysis to resolve issues efficiently. Read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, loop diagrams, and technical manuals to execute work accurately and safely. Perform routine and preventive maintenance on equipment to minimize downtime and extend equipment life; participate in commissioning, startup, and testing activities for new installations. Apply and enforce proper lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and maintain awareness of arc flash boundaries in compliance with NFPA 70E; operate elevated work platforms as required. Document all work performed, including calibration records, maintenance logs, and as-built drawings; ensure all work is performed in compliance with NEC, NFPA 70E, and applicable OSHA standards. Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and technicians to support project schedules and deliverables; contribute technical feedback to support continuous improvement initiatives. Basic Qualifications High School Diploma or GED with 2 years of hands-on experience in electrical systems and instrumentation in an industrial, commercial, or field service environment OR completion of an accredited electrical apprenticeship or technical program with demonstrated practical proficiency. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and P&IDs with accuracy. Demonstrated knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, and applicable OSHA standards with a strong commitment to safety culture.
