Electrical Supervisor

**Job Summary** Supervisor of Electrical Maintenance is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the maintenance of electrical systems and equipment. Manages a team of maintenance technicians to ensure the proper functioning and repair of electrical systems in a facility or organization. Provides guidance, training, and support to the maintenance team to ensure efficient and effective maintenance operations. Collaborates with other departments to schedule maintenance activities and minimize downtime. **Essential Functions** • Understand VMC’s electrical safety policies, procedures, and guidelines. Continue to develop their application in their Division. • Enforce safe operating standards, continually improving electrical safety through observation and coaching. • Supervise electrical support activities for all plants, including preventative maintenance. • Implement, coordinate, and manage electrical projects and work in their Division. • Establish and continually improve preventative maintenance efforts to ensure safe and reliable electrical equipment operation. • Interface with design teams on capital and maintenance projects. • Track and maintain parts inventories, balancing product availability with cost effectiveness. • Ensure electrical work and equipment complies with the NEC, MSHA and OSHA • Monitor contracted electrical companies. • Assist in planning and executing a training regimen to continuously upgrade employee skills. **Critical Competencies** • Initiative and Self-Motivation - Ability to take proactive steps, anticipate needs, and act without needing constant direction or supervision; drives to pursue goals, generates ideas, and seeks opportunities for improvement or innovation without waiting for external prompts. • Problem Solving - Identify, analyze, and resolve work-related issues efficiently and effectively using practical knowledge, experience, and hands-on skills. Promotes a culture of integrity and ethical behavior. • Decision Making - Makes informed, effective, and timely decisions by evaluating available information, considering potential outcomes, and choosing the best course of action; analyzes options, weighs risks and benefits, and uses sound judgment to reach decisions that align with organizational goals and values. • Attention to Detail - Ability to thoroughly and accurately complete tasks; meticulous and precise when handling information, and is critical in ensuring the quality, accuracy, and integrity of the results. • Communication - Communicates clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, while actively listening and adapting the message to the audience. ### Responsibilities **Education** • High School degree or equivalent. • Electrician's license or other relevant certifications. **Experience** • 5-10 years of electrical experience in the aggregate or a heavy industrial environment. • Applying policies and practices in regards to Safety, Health, and Environmental. • Designing and managing the construction of projects related to different types of power distribution (Overhead and Underground) including both low and medium voltage. • Working with PLC’s, Soft Starts, and VFD’s. • Designing motor control systems. • Hiring and supervising electrical contractors. • Management of small and medium scale electrical projects. **Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities** • Must be a team player who is also capable of working independently with minimal supervision. • Must be professional, organized, and a flexible self-starter. • Basic computer skills and knowledge of CAD, Excel, Word, MS Project (or similar software). • Knowledge of mine production techniques and equipment, safety and environmental regulations (NEC, MSHA and OSHA). • Good communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to plan and manage effect…
