Electrical Installation Engineer

Summary Creates electrical design solutions for aircraft interiors, including wire routing, harnesses and equipment installations, ensuring Fit, Form and Function to meet customer criteria, quality standards, FAA requirements, budget and project schedules using Computer Aided Drafting/Design tools. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Creates electrical installation design solutions for aircraft interior, including wire routing, harnesses, and equipment installations using Computer Aided Drafting/Design tools, ensuring Fit, Form and Function. Creates a drawing list of assigned wire and / or electrical equipment installations for project level STC. Selects materials for electrical installations based on electrical requirements and materials specifications. Evaluates trade-offs in materials, composites, coatings, and other selections to best meet design objectives. Works with materials suppliers and material testing when needed. Ensures electrical designs meet customer criteria, quality standards and FAA requirements. Understands Bills of Materials, assembly concepts, fabrication specifications. Adheres to budget and project schedules. Provides design guidance and feedback to other engineering personnel. Provides liaison engineering support to resolve build and installation issues. Interfaces with cross-functional teams including Mechanical, Stress, Manufacturing, and Certification. Maintains regular attendance including being at work, being on time to work and working full shifts. Other duties as assigned. Summary of Education, Experience & Certification Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Aerospace or Electrical, minimum of 5 years relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Aviation background and aircraft interior experience preferred.
