EHR Principal Trainer - IT Epic Clinical - Full Time

**Position Summary:** The Epic Principal Instructional Designer (PID) conducts end user training during the implementation of the Epic Electronic Health Record Application across The Guthrie Clinic’s (TGC). The Epic PID is responsible for ensuring the successful training of end‐users and does so in accordance with the training plan and achieves critical outcomes. A key responsibility will be to work collaboratively with the EHR Management, Change Management and the IT Teams in the development of training material and maintaining the training environment. **Education, License & Cert:** Associates Degree In lieu of an Associates degree, High school diploma or GED and 2 years of healthcare and/or training related experience may be considered **Experience:** At a minimum, must have basic computer skills with some exposure to healthcare information systems. Demonstrated organizational, writing, and communication skills necessary. A proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Previous training experience preferred. **Essential Functions:** 1. Assists with organizational change management activities as directed 2. Attends Epic Design, Build and Validate (DBV) sessions, as required, to ensure a thorough understanding of the future‐state workflows to be trained. 3. Participates in the training efforts of end users as they relate to an Epic implementation. 4. Assists in conducting end user current state competencies to determine PC skill levels. 5. Conducts introductory training programs for new PC users. 6. Assist in the development of training schedules, training agendas, course material, job aids, and post‐training competencies that are role specific. 7. Assists in the design, build and maintenance of training materials and environments. 8. Assists in the development of Testing Plans, Go Live Plan and the Post Live Support Plan. 9. Participates in release note review and testing for special updates and upgrades; creating updated training material, and end‐user training. 10. Provides Go Live and post Live support to the end‐users. Documents, instructs and provides support for the IS Help/Triage Desk and Operations 11. Provide weekly status updates to the Epic Training Lead. 12. Will participate in training for providers in both Ambulatory and Inpatient workflows to ensure physicians and mid‐levels are trained appropriately. **Other Duties:** 1. Travel for this position is sometimes required. 2. Participation in community and employee engagement activities is required. 3.
