Performs cardiac ultrasound examinations according to physician's orders, utilizing a variety of complex ultrasound equipment. Assists physicians with more invasive echocardiography examinations including, but not limited to, Transesophageal echocardiography, Trans-catheter echo guided procedures (location specific), pericardiocentesis, echo guided myocardial biopsies (location specific), contrast enhanced exams, exercise and pharmacological stress echocardiography. Has the ability to modify procedures, to meet special circumstances and/or provide clinically useful information on a cost-effective basis. Will comply with the standards set forth by the American Society of Echocardiography and departmental policies and procedures.
