Mentors travel to meet 1-3 individuals per day and provide one-on-one skills training based on their individual goals. **As a Mentor, you will be responsible for:** - Assisting participants in their homes with tasks such as budgeting, meal planning, hygiene practices, and activities of daily living (ADLs). - Providing opportunities for the participant to develop socialization/interpersonal communication skills and practice self-regulation/coping techniques. - Providing hands-on training, observation, and evaluation of the participant's household tasks and assisting with further development. - Advocating for participants' inclusion in the community and empowering them to exercise their rights. - Use BuildAbility’s digital program to log the individual’s progress and performance. - Assisting individuals at their workplace to complete tasks successfully. - Helping individuals adjust to the workplace culture and understand the workplace policies. - Developing a relationship with workplace supervisors to gain feedback on the individual's performance and to help create a workplace environment that will maximize the individual's success. **Schedule:** - Part-time and Full-time opportunities - Mornings to evenings - **Hours assigned are subject to change weekly based on availability** **Work location:** - Los Angeles Region - Hollywood-Wilshire, Central Los Angeles, Glendale, Burbank, La Cañada-Flintridge, La Crescenta and Pasadena. **Compensation:** - Starting at $18.00 - $21.00/hour (dependent upon prior experience and qualifications). **Part-time Benefits:** - Paid Sick Time (56 hours) - Mileage Reimbursement and Paid Travel Time - Employee Assistance Program - 403(b) Retirement Savings Plan - Opportunity for Career Advancement **Required Qualifications:** - Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with individuals with disabilities, their family members, employers, and others in a positive and constructive manner. - High school diploma or GED. - Must pass a DOJ Live Scan fingerprinting background clearance. - Valid California Driver’s License, automobile insurance, and reliable transportation. - Willing to travel: up to 75%. - Proof of two COVID-19 vaccination doses or submit a request for accommodation based upon a medical condition or deeply held religious belief. **Preferred Qualifications:** - Fluent in Spanish. - Prior experience supporting individuals with disabilities.
