On average, the affiliate builds and renovates 100 homes in the Los Angeles region each year, ranking it among the largest affiliates nationwide. ## GENERAL DESCRIPTION Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles is hiring a **Driver’s Assistant** for our Torrance ReStore to help pick up donated goods for our ReStores. You’ll work with dispatch and supervisors to plan routes, communicate with donors and ReStore staff, and assist with loading and unloading donations. Candidates should be professional, personable, and reliable. The role includes helping assess donations, completing donation paperwork, and keeping the truck clean and ready. You may also be asked to fill in for the Driver when needed. ## SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS * * * - Communicate with donors before pick-ups - Help guide the driver with backing up, parking, and road safety - Verify pick-up items with donors and update the team if additional items are added - Safely load and unload items onto the truck and into the warehouse - Issue donation receipts and ensure accuracy - Communicate with dispatch, management, and supervisors - Fill in for drivers as needed - Assist at the warehouse/ReStore to complete an 8-hour workday - Help with marketing by placing door hangers after pick-ups ## SUMMARY OF JOB QUALIFICATIONS - Valid CA Driver’s License, minimum 19 years of age, and a clean DMV Record - OSHA Forklift Certified preferred but not required - Familiarity with Vonigo software preferred but not required - Pass a 10-panel drug test, background check, and 75 lb. lift test. - Customer Interaction - Communication Skills - Being able to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods, as well as working in different weather conditions, is sometimes needed**.** ## WORK CONDITIONS - Frequently it is required to walk and stand for prolonged periods of time. - May occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 lbs. alone, team lift 100 lbs. - Frequent movement around the office/warehouse/ReStore may be necessary. - Regular work with computers, including keyboards, mouses, and screens. - Working conditions consist of high temperature-controlled workspaces. - Noise levels are moderate to loud depending on the work area.
