The Department of Economic Security, Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD), is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Driver. DDD provides individuals with developmental disabilities and their families, services and supports that are flexible, high quality, and member-driven. These services provide individuals with opportunities to exercise their rights and responsibilities of independent decision-making and engagement in the community. Applicants for this position cannot be licensed or certified by the DDD Office of Licensing Certification and Regulation, cannot have a principal interest in or have a spouse or close family with principal interest DDD Qualified Vendor Agreement, and cannot be employed or subcontracted by a DDD Qualified Vendor. | Job Duties: | | --- | Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to: ● Transports members safely and efficiently between various locations, such as medical appointments. Ensures all passengers are secured properly, including members transported in wheelchairs. Remains alert to members and passengers. ● Responsible for route planning and communicating the transportation schedule to both home and direct care staff as required to help facilitate workflow. Maintains records related to assigned activities. ● Performs and arranges for routine services on the vehicles. Inspects the vehicles at the beginning and end of each shift. Maintains vehicle in clean and safe operating condition, ensuring all equipment is put away properly. ● Attends all monthly staff meetings/training; maintains full compliance with all training/certification requirements, and must be able to work holidays. | Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs): | | --- | Knowledge in: ● Operating a motor vehicle on a routine basis ● Safe and defensive driving practices ● Applicable traffic and transportation laws, codes, and regulations. ● Reading and interpreting maps ● Reading and writing Skills In: ● Interpersonal skills using tact, patience, and courtesy ● Time management ● Attention to detail ● Active listening Ability to: ● Understand written and verbal instructions. ● Coordinate assignments to ensure adherence to timetables ● Locate destinations with minimal use of time and fuel ● Multi-task and work efficiently while maintaining a friendly presence ● Perform basic vehicle checks ● Wear a mask at all times when transporting members. | Selective Preference(s): | | --- | The ideal candidate for this position will have: ● N/A | Pre-Employment Requirements: | | --- | ● If this position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job to conduct State business, then the following requirements apply: [Driver’s License Requirements.](https://publicstorage.dc4.pageuppeople.com/1045/ClientPublicFile/360…
