The ideal candidate has experience grooming a variety of dog breeds and is passionate about animal care, safety, and customer satisfaction. You will be responsible for providing high-quality grooming services while ensuring each pet’s comfort and well-being. **Key Responsibilities:** - Bathe, dry, brush, and trim dogs according to Scenthound standards or customer requests - Perform nail trimming, ear cleaning, and teeth brushing - Assess pets for skin conditions, parasites, or other health concerns and report findings - Handle dogs safely and calmly, including anxious or difficult pets - Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of grooming tools and workspace - Perform end-of-shift cleaning duties, including disinfecting grooming/bathing stations, tools, and common areas, restocking and ensuring the workspace is organized for the next day - Communicate clearly with pet owners regarding services, needs, when possible **Qualifications:** - Previous experience as a dog groomer or completion of a grooming certification program preferred - Knowledge of various dog breeds, coat types, and grooming techniques - Strong animal handling skills and patience - Excellent customer service and communication skills - Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 70 pounds **Preferred Skills:** - Experience with haircuts and bathing - Knowledge of pet health and behavior - Certification from a recognized grooming school (optional but preferred) **Benefits:** - Competitive hourly base pay, plus tips - Merit-based pay increases - Flexible scheduling - Opportunities for training and career growth - Complimentary service membership *We are an equal opportunity employer and welcome applicants who share our passion for providing exceptional care to pets.* Compensation: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
