Full-Time Faculty, 12 months / Exempt WORK SCHEDULE Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm JOB SUMMARY The new Doctor of Physical Therapy Program (DPT) at Southern Nazarene University (SNU) is seeking a full-time Core Faculty Member to help cultivate a collaborative teaching team dedicated to preparing skilled, ethical, and compassionate physical therapists within a Christ-centered learning community. This faculty member will play a central role in delivering the DPT curriculum, guiding students through the academic and clinical foundations of the profession while modeling the integration of faith, scholarship, and practice that defines an SNU education. Beyond the classroom, the successful candidate will contribute to the ongoing development and accreditation readiness of the DPT program, engage in scholarly activity that advances the field of physical therapy, and participate actively in the life of the university community. Core faculty are expected to bring both clinical expertise and a genuine commitment to student mentorship to support DPT students as they grow not only in clinical competence but also in character and calling. This position offers the opportunity to shape the next generation of physical therapists in a program grounded in academic rigor, evidence-based practice, and a distinctly Christian mission, within a supportive and close-knit faculty community. RESPONSIBILITIES Essential Functions: - Develop course syllabi, learning objectives, and assessments that align with program outcomes and CAPTE accreditation standards - Design, deliver, and continually refine didactic and laboratory instruction within the DPT curriculum, using evidence-based and active-learning pedagogies to develop students' clinical reasoning and professional competence - Provide academic advising and mentorship to DPT students, supporting their professional formation and integration of faith and practice consistent with SNU's mission - Participate in ongoing curriculum development, program assessment, and outcomes reporting to support continuous quality improvement - Maintain an active program of scholarly activity, including research, professional publication, and presentation at state, regional, or national conferences - Pursue funding, grants, or collaborative research opportunities where appropriate. - Serve on program, college, and university committees as assigned - Support CAPTE accreditation activities, including development of the Application for Candidacy and Self-Study Reports - Engage in service to the physical therapy profession through involvement with organizations such as the APTA - Participate in student recruitment, admissions review, and program outreach efforts - Contribute to the life of the university community, including participation in chapel, mission-related events, and campus initiatives that reflect SNU's Christian identity - Maintain clinical competency through active practice, continuing education, or affiliated clinical work as required by program policy - Hold and maintain current, unrestricted licensure as a physical therapist in Oklahoma. - Remain contemporary expertise in designated curriculum content areas - Model and articulate the integration of Christian faith with the physical therapy profession, contributing to a learning environment that reflects SNU's mission of “Character, Culture, Christ” - Uphold and represent the mission, vision, and values of Southern Nazarene University in all professional activities - Additional duties as assigned Required Qualifications: - Southern Nazarene University is an expression of the Church of the Nazarene.
