**Job Title**: Divisional Corps Assistant **FLSA Status**: Full-time, 40 hours per week; Exempt **Reports to**: Divisional Youth & Candidates Secretaries **Supervises**: Volunteers as needed **Rate of Pay**: Exempt **Term of Appointment**: One-year appointment, subject to annual review and renewal based on divisional need, funding, and performance. **Benefits**: Standard; Full-Time, Exempt employees are eligible for benefits in accordance with Salvation Army policy. **General Statement**: The Salvation Army is a branch of the Christian Church and the ultimate goal of all programs is spiritual regeneration of all people. **Corps/Department**: DHQ Program Department **Function:** A Corps Assistant of The Salvation Army Alaska Division shall be a person of genuine and deepening Christian character, emotional, mental, and physical stamina, and a loyal participant in a ministry team who is able to work well with and cultivate trust among officers, employees, volunteers, and the people we serve. Agreement to, understanding of, and adherence to the doctrine, mission, and practice of The Salvation Army is required. This person must always represent The Salvation Army in a positive manner in personal conduct and appearance. The Corps Assistant should have experience with a variety of Salvation Army corps programs, youth ministry, outreach, and seasonal programming, and should be capable of making sound judgments with appropriate supervision. This position serves the division as assigned and must be able to adapt to different corps settings, schedules, and local ministry needs while supporting the direction of divisional leadership and the officers at the site being served. **Scope of Position**: The Corps Assistant works in close collaboration with the Divisional Youth & Candidates Secretaries to provide flexible ministry, program, seasonal, and administrative support to corps and divisional youth efforts across the Alaska Division. This position is not assigned permanently to a single corps, but is deployed as needed during high-demand seasons, staffing gaps, summer programming, holiday ministry, special events, outreach efforts, and transitional periods. The Corps Assistant reports directly to the Divisional Youth & Candidates Secretaries. When assigned to serve at a corps or program site, the Corps Assistant will coordinate day-to-day responsibilities with the Corps Officers or local site leadership while remaining accountable to divisional supervision. The position is intended to strengthen corps ministry by providing practical assistance, spiritual leadership, volunteer support, youth engagement, and dependable operational help where it is most needed. **Duties and Responsibilities**: **Primary Responsibilities**: · Assist corps officers and divisional leadership with corps programs including, but not limited to, Sunday School, worship support, fellowship times, outreach activities, Bible studies, visitation, transportation, social services support, youth programs, and corps seasonal ministry needs. · Provide flexible support to corps across the division during busy seasons, staff shortages, special campaigns, major events, summer ministry, and holiday efforts as assigned. · Ensure Salvation Army youth programs are implemented and run efficiently, helping provide a variety of outreach, discipleship, and spiritual development opportunities that promote biblical character and growth. · Assist with teen programs, troops, junior soldiers, corps cadets, junior church, day camps, VBS, seasonal events, and divisional youth activities as assigned. · Strengthen relationships with children, youth, families, and corps constituents by connecting with neighborhoods, corps attendees, social services participants, and community partners. · Recruit, train, develop, schedule, and encourage volunteers and local leaders for corps ministry programs, especially youth and seasonal programming, and be prepared to lead programs when volunteers are unava…
