DISTRICT WIDE Maintenance Tech II / Bus Driver JobID: 2673 Position Type: Maintenance/Custodial/Maintenance General Date Posted: 6/29/2026 Location: Maintenance Date Available: 08/01/2026 Additional Information: Show/Hide DISTRICT WIDE Maintenance Technician II - Bus Driver LOCAL DISTRICT CLASSIFICATION PLAN CLASS TITLE: MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN II � BUS DRIVER BASIC FUNCTION: Perform semi-skilled to skilled maintenance, repair, and construction of District buildings, facilities, and equipment in one or more building maintenance trades. Assist journey-level maintenance staff with projects and independently complete less complex assignments. Operate a school bus on designated routes to safely transport students to and from school, special events, and field trips. Conduct required inspections and routine maintenance of the bus and assist students, including those with disabilities, during loading and unloading. DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS: The Maintenance Technician II performs maintenance and repair duties at the semi-skilled to skilled level and may work independently on routine assignments while assisting with larger maintenance projects. The position requires independent judgment based on training and experience. This position also performs school bus driving duties and ensures the safe transportation of students in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and District policies. REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES Building Maintenance & Facilities Support: - Perform semi-skilled maintenance, repair, and construction work on District buildings and equipment in trades such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, HVAC, and locksmithing. - Assist journey-level maintenance staff with construction, repair, and facility improvement projects. - Install, adjust, repair, and maintain locks, door hardware, panic bars, door closures, and related systems; assist with re-keying and preventive maintenance. - Assist in the construction, installation, and repair of roofs, cabinets, shelving, furniture, fences, bulletin boards, and other facility structures. - Install and repair gas and water lines, plumbing fixtures, electrical outlets, lighting fixtures, and heating and cooling equipment. - Perform minor plumbing repairs including clearing drains, repairing leaks, adjusting water pressure, and replacing hardware such as toilet seats and valves. - Install or repair flooring, ceiling tiles, carpet, blinds, bathroom fixtures, dispensers, and partitions. - Perform minor mechanical and electrical repairs on equipment such as vacuums, buffers, clocks, washers, dryers, and other appliances. - Prepare surfaces and apply paints, finishes, and coatings to buildings, equipment, and furnishings. - Assist with concrete and masonry work including forms, pouring, finishing, and repairs. - Perform custodial tasks such as stripping and waxing floors, cleaning windows, carpets, classrooms, sidewalks, and furniture when needed. - Assist with furniture assembly, relocation, event setup, and other general facility support tasks. - Maintain records of time, materials, and maintenance work performed and submit work orders for complex repairs. - Operate maintenance equipment and tools including power tools, forklifts, maintenance vehicles, and specialized equipment. - Perform related duties as assigned. Transportation & Bus Driving: - Operate a school bus on designated routes and schedules in accordance with federal, state, and district transportation regulations. - Transport students safely to and from school, field trips, and special events. - Learn assigned bus routes, stops, and traffic hazards. - Assist with loading and unloading students, including those with physical or developmental disabilities, and secure wheelchairs as necessary. - Maintain student safety, order, and discipline while on the bus in accordance with District policies. - Communicate with school staff, parents, and transportation personnel regarding student concerns or incidents. - Conduct re…
