Position Summary: Reporting to the VP of Medical Affairs, the Director or Senior Director, Medical Communications and Capabilities will drive the overarching medical communications strategy and execution including content development, education, and awareness initiatives across molecules and specified disease states. This person will work closely with cross-functional teams in the development, management, and execution of core medical communications deliverables including insight collections initiatives, publications, scientific platforms, internal and external content, congress plans, and scientific / digital communication plans. The Director or Senior Director, Medical Communications and Capabilities will have individual responsibility for medical communications and be a direct contributor to building the medical affairs function at the company. Note that this position can be hybrid in San Diego, CA or South San Francisco, CA or fully remote anywhere in the United States. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Lead strategic planning and execution for the medical communications function at ERASCA including content, education, and awareness initiatives across molecules and specified disease states. Lead and partner with key stakeholders on development of insight collection initiatives and publications. Maintain and continually develop in-depth knowledge of the evolving medical communications field and core deliverables including scientific platforms, internal and external content, and scientific / digital communication plans. Deliver and maintain key materials. Lead congress planning and execution including oversight of content, design for medical affairs booths, collection and generation of scientific insights and competitive intelligence, and planning of scientific symposia. Partners across internal stakeholders in Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, Commercial, and Leadership in implementation and execution of medical communications initiatives. Partner with external stakeholders including KOLs, advocacy groups, investigators, collaborators, and vendors for medical communication activities. Lead and establish internal scientific training, medical information, and grant review infrastructure as needed. Ensure projects remain on strategy, within budget, and are executed promptly. Support Medical and Legal Review (MLR) during medical affairs material review and future promotional / non-promotional material review for ERASCA molecules and specified disease states. Perform all duties in keeping with the Company’s core values, policies, and all applicable regulations . Required Education and Experience: Advanced degree (MD, PhD, PharmD) in a medical or science specialty preferred; significant experience in the medical field may be considered in lieu of an advanced degree. 7+ years of related experience at a pharmaceutical company or a medical communications agency including 3 years in medical affairs including roles in medical communications. Strong scientific acumen required with experience in precision therapeutics required and specific experience in GI or lung cancers preferred. Strong and timely communication skills, both oral and written, and capability to build trust and respect of partners.
