Director of Wellness Services – Hillcrest Highlands of Gretna Location: Gretna, NEService Line: Hillcrest Highlands of GretnaSchedule: Full-Time Hillcrest Health & Living is looking for a compassionate, organized, and clinically strong Director of Wellness Services to join our leadership team at Hillcrest Highlands of Gretna. As the Director of Wellness Services, you will play a key leadership role in supporting resident health, guiding care teams, and ensuring residents in Assisted Living and Memory Care receive thoughtful, high-quality support every day. What You’ll Do As the Director of Wellness Services, you will coordinate and oversee health maintenance activities for Assisted Living and Memory Care residents while ensuring compliance with state, federal, local, and Hillcrest standards. You will: Provide direction and oversight for Medication Aides and Personal Care Assistants to ensure resident needs are met according to service agreements. Create, coordinate, and manage PCA and Medication Aide schedules to support adequate staffing and continuity of care. Implement physician orders and ensure documentation is completed accurately in resident records. Complete required assessments, including pre-move-in, move-in, ongoing, and change-in-condition assessments. Monitor daily observations completed by PCAs and Medication Aides to ensure accuracy and timeliness. Prepare physician updates, medication administration sheets, appointment information, and transportation notifications. Review documentation daily to ensure compliance with Assisted Living regulations and Hillcrest policy. Review and verify MARs for errors, missed doses, missing signatures, and accuracy. Monitor resident health needs and complete weekly rounds with primary care when applicable. Maintain current knowledge of residents’ ADL and behavior-management needs as outlined in resident service plans. Investigate event reports, complete root-cause analysis, and communicate action plans as needed. Ensure appropriate notifications are made to the Administrator, physician, and resident families. Ensure medications are provided according to the Medication Aide Act. Determine Medication Aide competency and make appropriate assignments based on resident safety and team member capability. Participate in Plan of Care conferences with residents, families, or appointed designees. Actively participate in Quality Assurance, Performance Improvement, Safety Committee, and Risk Meetings. Support fiscal management of the Health Services budget, including labor variance review and spend-down tools. Participate in on-call rotations as scheduled and needed. What We’re Looking For We are looking for a leader who brings clinical confidence, strong organization, and a heart for serving aging adults. The right candidate will be comfortable leading care teams, supporting Assisted Living and Memory Care residents, managing priorities, and creating a culture of accountability, compassion, and follow-through. Ideal candidates will have: At least one year of clinical experience in geriatrics, Assisted Living, or Dementia care required. At least two years of leadership experience preferred. Strong understanding of Assisted Living regulations, resident assessments, service plans, and medication-management processes. Experience leading Medication Aides, Personal Care Assistants, or similar care team members. Strong attention to detail with documentation, MAR review, assessments, and regulatory compliance.
