Director of Quality

Our partner is looking for a Director of Quality based in India.** This leadership role is responsible for defining and advancing the quality strategy across a modern SaaS product portfolio. You will drive the evolution from traditional QA practices toward an automation-first, AI-enabled quality engineering culture. The role focuses on building scalable testing frameworks, improving release confidence, and reducing operational risk through intelligent quality practices. You will partner closely with engineering, product, architecture, security, and operations teams to embed quality throughout the software development lifecycle. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise, strategic leadership, and a passion for continuous improvement ### Accountabilities: As the Director of Quality, you will own the overall quality vision, strategy, and execution across multiple products and engineering teams. You will establish scalable processes, improve automation maturity, and ensure quality becomes an integrated part of development rather than a final checkpoint. - Define and execute a comprehensive quality strategy across SaaS products, including legacy applications, modern platforms, data solutions, and analytics capabilities. - Build and scale automated regression coverage, prioritizing critical business workflows, customer impact, and high-risk areas. - Evaluate and implement AI-assisted quality solutions, including AI-driven test generation, self-healing test automation, mutation testing, visual regression, and production anomaly detection. - Establish quality gates within CI/CD pipelines in partnership with engineering, DevOps, security, and platform teams. - Promote shift-left quality practices by improving testability, collaboration, and quality ownership throughout the development lifecycle. - Own quality metrics such as defect escape rates, automation coverage, regression health, and resolution effectiveness, providing visibility to leadership. - Lead the prioritization and reduction of legacy defects through structured analysis and risk-based decision-making. - Build and mentor a high-performing QA and automation engineering organization, developing talent and advancing automation capabilities. - Influence engineering teams to adopt strong testing practices through collaboration, technical guidance, and operational excellence. - Partner with internal stakeholders and external teams when needed to address quality challenges and improve customer outcomes. ## Requirements: The ideal candidate is an experienced quality engineering leader with a strong background in test automation, engineering transformation, and building scalable QA organizations. You should be comfortable operating in complex technology environments and driving measurable improvements through automation, data, and modern quality practices. - 10+ years of experience in quality engineering, software testing, or test automation, including 5+ years leading QA or automation teams. - Proven experience building automated regression frameworks within complex or legacy software environments. - Hands-on experience with AI-assisted testing and quality tools, including evaluating and applying AI solutions for test creation, maintenance, and operational insights. - Strong knowledge of automation frameworks and tools such as Playwright, Selenium, or similar technologies. - Experience designing and implementing CI/CD quality gates and automated validation processes. - Background working with enterprise technology stacks, including legacy systems undergoing modernization. - Experience owning release readiness decisions, go/no-go assessments, and production quality standards. - Strong understanding of softwar…
