Position: Director of Loss Prevention Department: Loss Prevention Purpose: To direct all Loss Prevention functions in the hotel ensuring a safe and secure accuracy and timely submission. Reports to: Director of Engineering Essential Functions: Ensures all Loss Prevention standards are properly followed. Reviews all reports completed by Loss Prevention officers to ensure accuracy and timely submission. Reports all observed hotel property deficiencies and safety hazards. Ensures thorough and complete investigation for all incidents incurred by guests and associates (i.e. losses, thefts, accidents, and acts of violence). Maintains guest room surveillance procedures. Maintains an effective key control program. Ensures that shift personnel are properly assigned at all times. Responsible for payroll, scheduling and other administrative duties. Attends all hotel meetings such as evening stand up, Ops, Safety Committee, Rooms Division, and bi-weekly staff meeting. Brief on- coming shift officer and the MOD on all Loss Prevention issues prior to leaving property. Maintain high visibility in the lobby and other public areas, especially during busy periods. Function as MOD on weekends. Respond to all fire and medical emergencies. Develop department policies and procedures. Excellent computer skills. Tools and Equipment: Telephone, pen/pencil, photo-copying machine, computer and printer, file folders, filing cabinet, and facsimile machine Lift jack dolly, hand truck, camera, first aid equipment Working Environment: Interior of hotel, in all areas with exposure to extreme temperatures. Exterior of hotel with exposure to weather conditions. Exposure to various hazardous chemicals.
