Director of Health Information Management

DESCRIPTION General Function: Responsible for the planning, coordinating, and managing of the activities of the above areas. Requires indirect supervision with periodic review of policies and results of actions implemented POSITION SPECIFICATIONS Educational Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Medical Records Administration and / or other Business/Healthcare related field. Experience Requirements: Minimum of (5) years of experience in a supervisory position and / or minimum of (2) year of experience in a supervisory position and (3) years of experience in Medical Records field. Special Requirements: Must maintain professional certification in Health Information Management such as RHIT, RHIA, or Certified Coding Specialist. ​​​​​​​JOB RELATED HAZARDS Potential for increased stress levels, particularly during periods of rigid time deadlines. Most job functions will take place in an air-conditioned office with little exposure to hazardous or infectious materials. Customer contact may cause some exposure to infection. Employee may be required to perform duties in storage areas. Long hours of sitting at a computer terminal are routine. Some possible lifting, stooping, and pushing may be necessary
