We envision a future where parents impacted by racial and social inequities can birth with dignity, parent with autonomy, and raise babies who are healthy, growing, and thriving. ## **Position Summary** In alignment with MCC’s core values and strategic priorities and reporting to the Vice President of Advancement and External Affairs, the Director of Grants is responsible for implementing and overseeing MCC’s grants strategy, which includes grants management, grant writing, prospecting, and cultivating funder relationships to drive the growth and sustainability of the organization. The primary goal of this role is to help secure and maintain government and foundation grant funding to diversify and expand MCC’s funding streams, resulting in program sustainability and agency growth. **Core Functional Responsibilities** **Leadership and Management** - Develops, implements, and oversees the agency’s grants strategy to generate revenue by identifying, researching, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding foundations (private, community, family, corporate) and government funding (federal, state, and local). - Supervision of Grants Coordinator, including setting clear performance expectations and supporting the coordinator in meeting goals through regular feedback, mentoring, coaching, and open communication. - Leads Grants Management Team including developing competitive proposals with measurable outcomes and feasible budgets, exploring new funding streams and opportunities, and leading monthly meetings to review funding needs and priorities, discussing upcoming grants with executive leadership team, as well as senior leaders from programs, policy, advocacy, finance, development, research and evaluation. - Works collaboratively across departments to manage interdepartmental projects and serves on cross-functional agency teams, including the Organizational Steering Committee. - Serves as the primary grants team liaison to MCC’s Advancement Committee, providing updates on grants strategy, pipeline status, and performance. **Grants Management and Operations** - Oversees the full grant lifecycle, integrating internal and external data, evidence, and outcomes to substantiate funding requests with programs and finance inputs. Includes pipeline planning, researching high-quality proposal strategy and development, and timely submission. - Oversee prospecting processes to identify, assess, and prioritize new and renewed foundation, government, and other grant funding opportunities aligned with organizational priorities and capacity. - Monitors award status and lead reporting efforts to ensure accurate compliance with agreements, contracts, and post-award requirements, including narrative and financial reports, through conducting data analyses. Provides recommendations to strengthen renewals, stewardship, and overall grants strategy. - Maintains and updates standardized content and required organizational documents, including boilerplate language, tax filings, audits, budgets, board rosters, and policies, to ensure application readiness. - Oversees digital systems and dashboards, ensuring efficient workflows and accurate tracking of deadlines, submissions, awards, reporting requirements, and fundraising goals in Salesforce. - Tracks and analyzes performance metrics, including submission volume, win and renewal rates, and revenue against goals, using data to inform strategy and continuous improvement. **Supporting Responsibilities**…
