The Director of Finance, Cost and Inventory will lead our cost accounting and inventory management functions. As a critical leader in our manufacturing operations, you will ensure end-to-end inventory accuracy, robust product costing, and strict compliance with financial regulations. Utilizing Infor LN, you will streamline manufacturing accounting, reconcile production variances, and drive cross functional profitability. Essential Functions Cost Accounting & Margin Analysis Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities related to cost accounting and inventory valuation. Oversee standard costing, job-costing, and the development of labor and overhead rates across complex manufacturing programs. Perform deep-dive profitability, variance, and margin analysis by product line, contract, and business unit. Ensure all accounting and estimating processes are fully compliant with DCAA, FAR, DFARS, and ITAR regulations as applicable to our industry. Inventory Management & Control Govern inventory accounting for raw materials, Work-in-Progress (WIP), and finished goods. Design and enforce cycle count programs, physical inventory procedures, and ongoing reconciliation. Manage inventory pegging, material traceability, and Customer Furnished Material (CFM) tracking unique to A&D contracts within Infor LN. Monitor excess, obsolete, and slow-moving inventory, establishing appropriate reserves and mitigation strategies. Infor LN ERP System Leadership Serve as the functional Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all Costing, Warehousing, and Manufacturing modules within Infor LN. Ensure seamless synchronization between Inventory Control, Shop Floor Management, and the General Ledger. Drive continuous system improvements, data governance, and process automation within Infor LN to minimize manual reconciliations. Leadership & Compliance Build, mentor, and lead a team of cost accountants and inventory control specialists. Establish, monitor, and report out on key performance indicators (KPIs) regarding inventory accuracy and cost of goods sold (COGS). Enforce and maintain strict internal controls, ensuring 100% SOX compliance and smooth audit support. Perform other duties as required. Qualifications and Competencies Security Clearance-Ability to obtain/maintain a TS/SCI DoD clearance, U.S. Citizenship required Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel Strong understanding of Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) Excellent cross-functional leadership capabilities Excellent leadership skills with proven ability to manage direct reports Ability to distill complex findings and concepts into key data-points and visualizations Self-motivated problem solver with the ability to prioritize multiple deadlines Excellent verbal and written communication skills Education / Certifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Supply Chain Management. CPA, CMA, or CPIM highly preferred. Experience 10+ years of progressive cost and inventory accounting experience 5+ years in a management or leadership role. Aerospace & Defense manufacturing background strongly preferred (experience with engineer-to order and government contracting is a major plus). Deep, hands-on expertise with Infor LN (specifically Procurement, Inventory, Manufacturing, and Financial modules) strongly preferred.
