Description Summary: We are a SaaS company specializing in accounting software for the hospitality industry, built on a modern .NET technology stack. As the Director of Engineering, Core, you will provide visionary leadership for the engineering organization, define and execute the technology roadmap, and oversee delivery of scalable, secure software solutions. This role also advances M3's agentic development excellence, moving teams from AI-assisted research and coding support toward governed, workflow-aware practices that improve velocity, quality, security, and developer experience. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional leaders, mentor engineering managers and leads, and ensure development practices align with business objectives, customer needs, and industry standards. Provide visionary leadership and strategic direction for the engineering organization, developing and implementing the engineering roadmap in alignment with company goals. Oversee the design, development, and deployment of scalable, secure, and high-quality .NET-based applications and services. Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, collaboration, and technical excellence within the engineering team. Build and mentor a high-performing engineering team, including engineering managers, leads, and individual contributors; promote professional growth and knowledge sharing. Partner with Product, Design, QA, and Data Engineering teams to deliver features on time and on budget that meet customer needs and drive business outcomes. Govern the M3 software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes, agile methodologies, CI/CD practices, and technical standards across teams. Champion best practices in software engineering, including agentic workflows, code reviews, automated testing, observability, and cloud-native development. Drive innovation through the adoption of AI technologies, cloud platforms (preferably Azure), PaaS, IaaS and modern engineering approaches. Lead a phased agentic development roadmap, from AI-assisted research and IDE copilots to prompt-based code generation, AI pair programming, and workflow-aware agents. Establish governance, enablement, prompt/playbook standards, human review practices, and productivity and quality metrics for responsible AI-assisted development. Evaluate, introduce, and implement new technologies, frameworks, and tools to enhance platform performance, maintainability, and scalability. Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, including security and regulatory requirements for accounting software within the hospitality sector. Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for engineering productivity, software quality, and system reliability; use data and telemetry to drive decision-making. Oversee resource allocation, project planning, and prioritization to ensure timely and successful delivery of initiatives.
