Number of Vacancies: 1 Area of Consideration: Open To The Public Position Status: Full-Time, Regular Pay Plan, Series & Grade: DS0058/2B Salary Range: $128,969.09 - $135,920.41 Closing Date: Open Until Filled Location: 4200 Connecticut Ave NW, Washington, DC 20008 Brief Description of Duties The Director of Campus Services provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for the University’s facilities operations, maintenance programs, and campus services functions. The role ensures safe, compliant, and efficient environments supporting the University’s mission while managing personnel, budgets, and infrastructure systems. Essential Duties and Responsibilities 1. Facilities Operations & Maintenance Oversight (30%) Provides comprehensive oversight of the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and performance of all University facilities, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient building systems. Directs preventive and corrective maintenance programs, establishes service level expectations, and monitors contractor and in-house performance to ensure high-quality service delivery. Ensures that campus facilities consistently support academic, research, and administrative functions while minimizing disruptions to operations. Identifies operational risks and implements proactive measures to address system deficiencies, aging infrastructure, and service gaps. 2. Strategic Planning & Asset Management (20%) Leads the development and execution of long-range facilities strategies designed to sustain, modernize, and optimize the University’s physical assets. Establishes asset management frameworks, including lifecycle planning, capital renewal prioritization, and deferred maintenance mitigation strategies. Utilizes data-driven analysis to assess building conditions, system performance, and investment needs, and develops actionable plans to extend the life of critical infrastructure. Aligns facilities planning efforts with institutional priorities, enrollment trends, and programmatic growth. 3. Financial Management & Budget Oversight (20%) Directs the financial planning and management of campus services and facilities operations, including the development, administration, and continuous monitoring of operating and capital budgets. Conducts detailed financial analysis to ensure responsible stewardship of resources and alignment of expenditures with strategic priorities. Identifies cost-saving opportunities, improves operational efficiencies, and ensures transparency in financial reporting. Collaborates with senior leadership tosupport budget development, funding requests, and long-term financial planning for infrastructure investments. 4. Leadership, Supervision & Workforce Management (15%) Provides leadership and direction to a diverse workforce, including managers, technical staff, and support personnel across multiple disciplines. Establishes clear performance expectations, accountability frameworks, and professional development opportunities to build a high-performing team. Promotes a culture of safety, service excellence, and continuous improvement. Oversees workforce planning, resource allocation, and organizational structure to ensure optimal staffing and operational effectiveness. Supports employee engagement, conflict resolution, and succession planning initiatives. 5. Compliance, Policy Development & Stakeholder Engagement (10%) Ensures full compliance with federal, District, and University regulations governing facilities operations, including environmental, safety, and energy management requirements. Develops, implements, and maintains policies, procedures, and standards that promote consistency, accountability, and best practices across campus services functions. Prepares and presents reports, metrics, and updates to senior leadership on operational performance, regulatory compliance, and key initiatives.
