Position Summary As the Global Institute's work expands, AI has become central to that vision: a force reshaping classrooms and systems, and a tool for connecting practitioners at scale. Launched in November 2025, the AI Literacy & Creator Collective has grown to 1,810 education practitioners across 93 countries, moving educators from dependency on AI tools built elsewhere to agency as co-architects of AI's role in their own classrooms. The Director of AI and Educational Technology will provide strategic and operational leadership across the Global Institute’s AI and EdTech portfolio: AI Literacy & Creator Collective The Better Future Hub The AI EdTech Entrepreneur Community. The role sets direction, builds team capacity, secures resources, and represents the GI's AI and EdTech agenda to senior leadership, network partners, and external funders. About the Global Institute The Global Institute for Shaping a Better Future fosters global learning among people committed to reshaping education so that young people can shape a better future. By engaging practitioners across borders, the GI surfaces and spreads what works, building leadership while generating new evidence, tools, and resources that accelerate collective progress toward a shared vision: that all children have the education and support to shape a better future. Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership Drive the AI and EdTech vision for the Global Institute, refining and implementing a strategy that aligns the AI Literacy & Creator Collective, the Better Future Hub, and the AI EdTech Entrepreneur Community with the GI's broader AI learning agenda. Lead the integration of the AI Literacy & Creator Collective into the Global Institute, overseeing its evolution into a more deeply integrated next phase (AI LCC 2.0) and its migration onto the Better Future Hub. Set the strategic direction and product roadmap for the Better Future Hub, the GI's public-facing knowledge commons. Continuously evaluate the evolving needs of the network and the impact of the GI's AI and EdTech work, using these insights to sharpen strategy and resource allocation. Building Strategic Relationships and Partnerships Support the Chief Learning Officer in cultivating and managing partnerships with frontier AI companies, technology funders, and platform providers (including Anthropic, Atlassian, Zoom, and others) to expand network access to AI tools, training, and infrastructure. Serve as a point of contact for funding proposals tied to the AI and EdTech portfolio, ensuring concept notes and learning agenda documents remain coherent and legible across multiple funders. Work with the Chief Learning Officer and Director of the Global Institute to align AI and EdTech strategy with broader organizational priorities and donor relationships. Support the development of regional chapters of the AI Literacy & Creator Collective, working with network partners to extend the model into new geographies. Facilitating Strong Network Learning Foster a vibrant, global learning community of educators, alumni, and network staff engaging with AI, ensuring the AI Literacy & Creator Collective continues to scale its reach and depth of engagement. Lead the strategic launch of the AI EdTech Entrepreneur Community, defining its purpose, membership model, and connection to the GI's broader mission and learning agenda. Oversee the content strategy, taxonomy, and editorial workflow for the Better Future Hub, ensuring resources are discoverable, well-organized, and useful to a global, multilingual audience. Champion a learning culture that treats educators as co-architects of AI in education, not passive recipients of tools built elsewhere. External Engagement and Thought Leadership Serve, alongside the Chief Learning Officer of AI and EdTech, as an internal and external point person for the GI's AI and EdTech work, including identifying speakers for engagements and supporting public-facing communications.
