BCom is an outcomes agency specializing in digital strategy, advocacy, and fundraising for foundations, nonprofits, campaigns, and mission-driven brands. As we expand our long-term nonprofit, advocacy, and impact partnerships, we're building a new business development function to support our next phase of growth. We are hiring a Director of Business Development to join our Revenue team. This position is responsible for generating new revenue by identifying opportunities, building relationships, developing proposals, and securing new clients. You will own the business development pipeline from prospecting through contract execution, ensuring a healthy flow of qualified opportunities that support the company's growth goals. Partnering closely with senior leadership, you will align sales efforts with revenue targets, market opportunities, and company priorities while maintaining accountability for new business performance. As a strategic seller and hands-on business development leader, you will manage complex sales cycles, lead pitches, negotiate opportunities, and position BCom as a trusted partner for campaigns, causes, associations, nonprofits, and mission-driven organizations. This role is directly accountable for achieving new business revenue goals and driving the company's sales performance. Experience, Skills, & Competency Requirements Hard Skills 7 or more years of experience in business development, sales, client acquisition, or revenue generation within a marketing agency, consulting firm, communications firm, political organization, or related environment. Experience selling consulting or professional services to foundations, nonprofits, advocacy organizations, associations, chambers, or other mission-driven organizations. Demonstrated alignment with mission-driven work and organizations. Demonstrated success generating new business and closing high-value client engagements. Experience managing complex sales cycles from prospecting through contract execution. Experience developing and managing sales pipelines and revenue forecasts. Strong proposal development, presentation, negotiation, and closing skills. Strong understanding of marketing, communications, digital strategy, fundraising, advertising, or agency services. Strong commercial acumen with the ability to identify growth opportunities, evaluate deal potential, and align solutions to client needs. Experience using CRM systems and sales pipeline management tools. Ability to analyze sales data and performance metrics to drive decision-making. Strong written communication skills with the ability to independently develop and edit proposals. Experience presenting to executive-level stakeholders and decision-makers. AI-informed and comfortable leveraging emerging technologies to improve pipeline management, research, and proposal development while maintaining a relationship-first approach to consultative selling.
