## Description The Clinical Dietitian plans, directs and provides all aspects of nutritional care to residents of the TRU. The Clinical Dietitian must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the residents served by his/her department – adult through geriatric. The Clinical Dietitian participates in planning facility menus. The Clinical Dietitian must demonstrate knowledge of principals appropriate to the age specific needs of the residents served; possess the ability to assess data reflective of the resident's status; interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each resident's requirements relative to their age-specific needs; and to provide the care needed as described in the Food Services Department’s policies and procedures. Type of supervision exercised: Team Leader. Jobs reporting to this position: Diet Office Staff. **EDUCATION:** Registered dietitian status required with a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in nutrition or dietetics required or individuals that are eligible to become registered dietitians as long as RD can be and is obtained within six months of hire. Advanced degree preferred. Certification as a Clinical Nutrition Specialist Dietitian preferred. **WORK EXPERIENCE:** Two (2) years experience in a adult or geriatric health care environment preferred. **SPECIAL EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:** Must be cleared by PA State Police criminal history check. Must be registered by the Commission on Registration of the American Dietetic Association. Good verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills required for effective interaction with management team, medical staff, nursing and other related departments and staff.
