Summary; - **Prepares and cooks meals for residents and by performing the following duties.** - **Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.** - Gathers all food needed for mealtime and reports any shortages to Food Service Director. - Plates all food items for residents and staff. - Prepares various foods depending on the menu created by the dieticians for each meal of the day, following federal, state, and local regulations. - Operates various kitchen equipment in preparation for the meal, e.g., mixer, meat slicer, oven, steamer, etc. - Serves meals in a safe manner and follows all requirements. - Directs activities of one or more workers who assist in preparing and serving meals. - Accurately follows diet cards when serving residents. - Takes and documents food temperatures. - Cleans kitchen and all kitchen equipment. - Assists in putting away of dietary stock and rotation of dietary supplies. - Keeps all coolers clean and organized, including checking expiration dates. - Follows portion control guidelines. - \*Maintain the confidentiality of all resident, staff, and organization information. **Qualifications To perform this job successfully**, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
