In addition, we offer a shift differential for our 2^nd^ shift team members. Pay is based on a variety of complex factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. **This position is eligible for overtime pay.** - **We’re big on benefits.** Following 31 days (about 1 month) of employment, employees joining our team in South Windsor have access to **robust benefits** via the Teamsters Local 671 Health Services and Insurance Silver Plan: - **Comprehensive medical insurance** with a set employee premium contribution of only 12% - **Paid Time Off (PTO): Vacation and sick time** plus observed company holidays - **Earned additional PTO rewards** available for perfect attendance. - **Pension** with employer contributions **How You Can Make an Impact** As a Die Cutting Operator, you will be responsible for all activities associated with the set-up, make ready, operation, cleanup and order documentation of the die cutting machines in the facility. This is a fast-paced role where you will leverage your problem-solving abilities and respond quickly to continually changing priorities as you coordinate multiple projects. **WE TRAIN ON SITE!** **A Day in the Life** 1. Responsible for safely and efficiently operating a die cutting machine. 2. Stage all materials for next job on press (printed sheets, cutting die, plate and blanking tools). 3. Monitor sheets while job is running. 4. Transport die cut loads to Gluing and Stripping staging areas. 5. Conduct routine maintenance. 6. Help maintain organization of plates and cutting dies. 7. Assist in process improvement/waste reduction techniques. 8. Follow all departmental policies, safety rules and procedures. 9. Follow all good manufacturing policies as they relate to food safety 10. Perform other job duties as assigned. **This is a full-time, on-site position on second shift (3:00PM-11:00PM Eastern Time Monday-Friday). However, changes in manufacturing needs and schedules may necessitate a change to the original agreed upon hours, or the working of additional, overtime hours. Every effort will be made to give advance notice of any permanent changes.** **Capabilities & Experience:** **Basic Qualifications** - High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. - Ability to read and comprehend safety and operational instructions, procedures, and policies. - Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. - Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measurement using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. - Ability to carry out detailed written and/or verbal instructions and operational procedures. - Basic computer skills are necessary to read work instructions, record job data, follow work schedules, and communicate electronically via email. - Attention to detail. - Mechanical and technical aptitude. - Ability to work overtime as needed. - Ability to interpret product layouts and production specifications - Ability to read and interpret a tape measure and measurements with speed and accuracy.
