SBT current contracts address U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) and U.S. Department of State (DoS) demand for highly skilled professionals to solve problems in the interest of national security. **Location:** Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Building M-22, Portsmouth, VA **Schedule:** Monday-Friday, 0700-1530 - Contingent upon award ### Position Summary The Destruction Center Lead is a hands-on working lead responsible for coordinating and overseeing the daily operation of the NNSY Security Destruction Center. The Lead supervises four Destruction Center Operators while also participating in burn-bag collection, material handling, equipment operation, destruction activities, security compliance, equipment inspections, and facility upkeep. The Lead serves as the primary day-to-day contractor representative for operational coordination, staffing, work assignments, records, minor complaints, equipment issues, and required contract reporting. The solicitation identifies this position as the individual responsible for managing, coordinating, and overseeing Destruction Center operations. ### Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Direct and coordinate the daily activities of four Destruction Center Operators. - Verify adequate staffing and maintain two-person integrity requirements for classified and sensitive material handling. - Coordinate collection schedules with NNSY buildings, codes, and designated points of contact. - Assign collection routes, equipment-operating duties, material-sorting responsibilities, and housekeeping tasks. - Monitor receipt, transportation, staging, safeguarding, destruction, and final disposition of classified and CUI material. - Operate industrial disintegrators, conveyor belts, air-evacuation systems, compactors, degaussers, and NSA-approved shredders as a working member of the team. - Ensure prohibited or nonstandard materials are identified and removed before entering destruction equipment. - Conduct or oversee routine equipment inspections and operator-level maintenance. - Direct the clearing of paper jams, cutting-section obstructions, ductwork clogs, and external air-system blockages within authorized maintenance limits. - Ensure fall-protection, hazardous-energy-control, Lockout/Tagout, hearing-protection, and other OSHA/NNSY safety procedures are followed. - Notify Code 1122 or other designated Government security representatives of burn-bag policy violations, security concerns, equipment problems, staffing changes, or conditions affecting destruction operations. - Oversee opening, closing, safeguarding, and maintenance of the classified storage area. - Maintain operational continuity during equipment downtime by assigning material staging, inventory, documentation, chain-of-custody, security, housekeeping, and maintenance-support activities. - Coordinate contractor support during Government-authorized contingency destruction operations. - Review and certify employee time and attendance. - Maintain accurate operational records and prepare or review all contract deliverables. - Address minor employee, customer-service, scheduling, or operational issues as they arise. - Ensure the Destruction Center is clean, secure, and ready for operation at the end of each workday. ### Contract Reporting Responsibilities The Lead should be assigned primary responsibility for compiling, reviewing, certifying, and submitting: - Personnel Status Reports. - Weekly Destruction and Material Log Summaries. - Equipment Maintenance and Safety Logs. - Monthly Progress/Status Reports. - Weekly Time and Attendance Reports. - Weekly Collection Point Servicing Logs. ### Minimum Contract Qualifications - U.S. citizen. - Active/final Secret security clearance. - Eligible for…
