Position: Desk Assistant Full Time or Part Time: Part Time Hours: 20-28 hours per week, including two Saturdays per month. We’re looking for a friendly, community focused individual to serve the public at our Checkout and Information desks. This includes greeting people, checking items out, and providing computer, printing and e-reader help. Customer service and/or library work experience is a plus. This position is 20 hour per week plus one Saturday per month. The ideal candidate will be available to work Mondays 5 – 8 pm, Tuesdays 1 – 5 pm, Wednesdays 1 – 5 pm, Thursdays 1 – 5 pm, and Fridays 1 – 6 pm, and every other Saturday 8:45 am – 5 pm. Starting pay is $17 per hour. Qualifications: High school graduate, some college preferred Customer service experience required Library work experience preferred Benefits: Accrual of Paid Vacation Time Accrual of Paid Sick Time Enrollment in the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF), which the library makes contributions to in addition to employee contributions Four hours of paid holiday time in honor of your birthday to be taken within the pay period that includes your birthday. Potential for partial tuition reimbursement for job related courses Access to an Employee Assistance Program. Up to 5 normally scheduled working days of paid bereavement leave associated with the death of an immediate relative.
