## Job Description The New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) is the nation’s oldest and largest public housing authority with more than 177,000 apartments, and responsibility for administering a citywide Section 8 leased housing program that serves over 150,000 additional tenants. NYCHA’s Asset & Capital Management (A&CM) Division leads the Authority’s capital, sustainability and resiliency programs that comprise a $6 billion capital projects portfolio – one of the largest in NY State – as well as a range of activities related to property modernization and strategic asset management. A&CM aims to preserve and modernize NYCHA buildings and apartments through strategic portfolio planning, comprehensive design standards, innovative financing and project delivery models, strong partnership with NYCHA residents and other stakeholders, and effective program and project management of capital investments. The Division also positions NYCHA’s housing portfolio for the future by piloting and scaling-up sustainable and resilient technologies and practices, improving residents’ quality of life while enhancing building performance. The work culture of the Division is strongly customer service oriented, collaborative and delivery focused. The A&CM Division’s Strategic Services Department seeks a Business Intelligence Deputy Director to help Head of Business Intelligence lead its Business Intelligence (BI) unit. The BI unit has two primary areas of responsibility: providing analytical support across the division and leading execution of routine and ad hoc A&CM reports. The unit works closely with NYCHA’s Chief Asset & Capital Management Officer (CACMO) to assess strategic reporting and data transparency needs for non-A&CM stakeholders and ensure fidelity of A&CM reports. The BI Deputy Director holds a leadership position within the Business Intelligence Department, with substantive contributions to Authority-wide research and policy. Reporting to the Head of BI and with very wide latitude for independent judgment, decision-making and initiative, the BI Deputy Director oversees the planning of new initiatives with an eye to enabling robust program evaluation as well as oversees outcome reporting and program evaluation of all Business Intelligence initiatives. The position routinely champions new ideas and strategic initiatives; produces written studies and strategic plans for public release; and represents the department internally and externally as needed, including regularly participating in conferences, meetings, and seminars. The Deputy Director should have exceptional proficiency with data and modern technology. This proficiency should include a strong technical quantitative foundation, and understanding of various data manipulation tools (e.g., MS PowerBI, Excel, Python, SQL). In addition, the Deputy Director should be well equipped to identify data and automation needs across the division, taking a consultative approach to helping A&CM unit leads establish and improve upon appropriate metrics to stay abreast of their units’ work. The Deputy Director should be able to effectively document and explain complex data concepts to non-quantitative. Some key day-to-day responsibilities include: 1. Day-to-day management of Business Intelligence Analysts and Staff Augments responsible for BIT tools development, data analytics, dashboards, and reporting. Provide oversight and serve as the primary point of contact on various BI Initiative such as but not limited to data visualization / KPI support for other A&CM units. 2.
