**Treasure Coast Community Health (TCCH), a long-established and highly respected healthcare provider and Federally Qualified Health Center with locations throughout Indian River County, FL is seeking a Dental Assistant to join our team.** Assists dentists during examination and treatment of patients by performing the following duties: **Essential Duties and Responsibilities** include the following. Other duties may be assigned. - Prepares treatment room for patients by following prescribed procedures and protocols - Prepares patients for dental treatments by welcoming, comforting, seating and draping patient. - Provides instrumentation by sterilizing and delivering instruments to treatment area, positioning instruments for dentist's access, suctioning and passing instruments. - Provides diagnostic information by taking digital radiographic studies, pouring, trimming and polishing study casts - Maintains patient appearance and ability to masticate by fabricating temporary restoration, cleanings and polishing removable appliances. - Provides chair side assistance in both general and specialized dentistry. - Operates all dental equipment, i.e. vital signs. - Documents dental care services by charting in the patients electronic record in Dentrix and Intergy. - Protects patient and employee by adhering to infection control policies and protocols. - Protects patient and employees by adhering to HIPAA guidelines. - Responsible for cleaning of dental operatory instruments. # Education and/or Experience Associate's degree (A. A.) in dental assisting or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. # Certification Expanded Functions Dental Certificate is required. If the applicant is a Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) the CDA certification meets the requirements for expanded functions certification. Certification as a Dental Radiographer is preferred.
