**Dementia Living Manager** **Department:** Dementia Living Households **Reports To:** Director of Nursing/Administrator (or Director of Resident Services) **Status:** Full-Time | Exempt **Education Required:** Bachelor's Degree **Position Summary** The Dementia Living Manager serves as the operational leader of one or more dementia households, creating an exceptional home environment where residents thrive through meaningful relationships, purpose, dignity, and person-centered living. This position provides day-to-day leadership for household operations, team development, resident engagement, family partnerships, quality improvement, and interdisciplinary collaboration. While this is a non-clinical management position, the Dementia Living Manager works closely with nursing and clinical leaders to ensure residents receive exceptional, individualized care. The Dementia Living Manager fosters a culture where residents direct their daily lives, employees feel empowered, and families become valued partners in the community. **Essential Responsibilities** **Household Leadership** - Lead daily operations of the dementia household(s). - Promote a true household model focused on choice, independence, and meaningful living. - Ensure the household maintains a warm, welcoming home-like atmosphere. - Serve as the primary operational leader for assigned households. - Facilitate daily household huddles and team communication. **Team Leadership** - Supervise, coach, mentor, and develop household team members. - Build employee engagement and accountability. - Assist with interviewing, onboarding, orientation, and retention initiatives. - Conduct performance coaching and evaluations. - Foster teamwork across all departments. **Resident Experience** - Ensure each resident's preferences, routines, history, and abilities are honored. - Promote meaningful engagement throughout the day. - Encourage spontaneous and purposeful activities integrated into daily life. - Monitor resident satisfaction and quality of life. - Advocate for resident choice and autonomy. **Family Partnerships** - Serve as a primary resource for families. - Build trusting relationships with residents' loved ones. - Address concerns proactively. - Facilitate family meetings when appropriate. - Encourage family involvement within the household community. **Operations** - Oversee household budgets and purchasing as assigned. - Monitor household supplies and resources. - Ensure environmental excellence and household appearance. - Coordinate dining, housekeeping, maintenance, activities, and nursing services within the household. - Identify opportunities for operational improvement. **Quality & Regulatory Excellence** - Participate in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement initiatives. - Assist with survey readiness. - Monitor household quality indicators. - Promote infection prevention practices through collaboration with clinical leaders. - Ensure compliance with organizational policies and applicable regulations. **Interdisciplinary Collaboration** Collaborate closely with: - Nursing - Social Services - Life Enrichment - Dining Services - Rehabilitation - Environmental Services - Pastoral Care - Administration to ensure residents experience seamless, individualized support. **Qualifications** **Required** - Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, Gerontology, Recreation Therapy, Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or a related field. - Minimum three years of leadership experience. - Experience working with older adults. - Demonstrated leadership and team-building abilities. - Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. **Preferred** - Experience in long-term care, assisted living, memory care, or dementia programming. - Eden Alternative, Positive Approach to Care, Teepa Snow, Montessori Dementia Care, or similar dementia education. - Knowledge of CMS and Pennsylvania long-term care regulat…
