Edison Junior Senior High School (grades 6-12) 3304 Parkside Avenue | Lake Station IN 46405-1143 Lake Station Community Schools is seeking a Dean of Studentsfor assignment at Thomas A. Edison Junior Senior High School. The Dean of Students is responsible for overseeing student life, and discipline in a 6-12 grade school setting. This role involves collaborating with school leadership, faculty, and staff to create a supportive and enriching environment for students Education and/or Experience: Possess an Indiana teacher's license (preferred). Supervision/leadership experience in a K-12 education environment. Previous experience teaching in a Junior High/Middle School or High School (preferred). Preferred applicants should: Possess the ability to work effectively with students, parents, teachers, administrators and the public. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups of students, faculty, and parents. Commitment to fostering a positive school culture and student development. Good organization and computer skills. Job Description: 185 days per contract year. Oversee day-to-day disciplinary issues, working closely with administration, faculty, and staff. Communicate effectively with parents regarding student behavior concerns. Supervision of extra-curricular events during evenings and weekends. Maintain accurate records of disciplinary actions and parent communication. Provide facilities management support. Any other duties assigned by administration.
