About the opportunity We are seeking an Engineering Manager for our Data Science & AI department to join a team of passionate engineers and data scientists who build advertising solutions at world scale. We build and operate large-scale distributed machine learning systems that make 1B predictions per second during real-time auctions. What will you do? As the Engineering Manager of the team, you will: Build a long-term technical vision for the team that aligns with business goals and scales effective AI solutions. Inspire, mentor, and coach engineers and data scientists, fostering a culture of continuous learning and career development. Oversee the end-to-end delivery of projects, ensuring they meet requirements on time while maintaining a pragmatic balance between development velocity and code quality. Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, and Operations teams to translate business needs into technical realities. Actively participate in architectural and scientific discussions, and contribute hands-on to feature implementation and code reviews. What will you bring to the team? Experience managing software or data teams, with a track record of mentoring both engineers and scientists. A keen sense of ownership over the full development lifecycle, with the ability to generalize specific technical problems into scalable product solutions. Sound, pragmatic knowledge of Agile methodologies and a history of delivering complex projects successfully. Strong background in Statistics or AI/ML, with the ability to apply the scientific method to engineering challenges (rigorous, detail-oriented, and curious). A passion for data-driven decision-making and the ability to solve complex problems with innovative solutions. Excellent command of English with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. The team The global AI department currently consists of 50 people who are a mix of data scientists, machine learning and backend engineers Your peers will all have deep experience from on-line ad systems from Teads and previous companies.
