Data Architect- Remote - Topeka, KS

**Role: Data Architect** **Location: Topeka, KS** **Work Mode: Remote** **Employment Type: Contract-to-hire** **Interview Mode: Only Video** - Assess and cultivate long-term strategic goals for existing data systems and future data warehousing in conjunction with data users, managers, clients and other key stakeholders. - Coordinate and work with technical staff to develop database architectures, coding standards and quality assurance policies and procedures. - Design and implement redundant systems, policies and procedures for disaster recovery and data archiving to ensure effective availability, protection and integrity of data assets. **General Duties:** - Oversee data collection, master data and databases. - Create models for new data warehouse development and/or changes to existing data stores. - Design and manage data warehouse development and any future improvement and growth projects. - Identify inefficiencies and gaps in current data systems and leverage solutions to ensure data standards. - Diagnose and resolve data system and/or data warehouse access and performance issues. - Oversee and enforce Data Governance policies. **Skills required:** - Working technical experience with strategically designing and implementing data warehouses, data marts and data stores. - Strong understanding of relational database structures, theories, principles and practices. - Effective written and oral communications in order to establish and maintain good rapport with business and agency staff for effective and timely problem identification and resolution of problems. **Knowledge and ability to utilize the current version of the following products:** - Microsoft Work, Excel and PowerPoint - .Net (Visual Basic, C#), Java or other modern development languages - SQL Database - Azure DevOps - Windows Server OS, functions/commands - SQL Management Studio - SQL (language) - Visual Studio **Experience required:** - Eight (8) year’s direct experience relative to the field of work, with at least five (5) years direct experience with data architecting, data mining, large-scale data modeling and business requirements gathering/analysis. **Education required:** - Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, a related engineering field, or equivalent work experience.
